what's a cheap/easy way display for my jewelry booth?
i just moved to europe from canada and am selling my handmade jewelry at a market in another european city. all my display stuff is at home in canada and there's no way i'm getting it mailed it out here. also, i don't want to bring anything bulky on the plane and have to pay extra charges. so anyone have photos of very simple display ideas? i was thinking just to cover the table with a tablecloth and set the jewelry on different shaped mirrors or something... i also dont want to have to carry a bunch of crap with me from city to city...i want this to be as simple as possible! thanx

- You can use cardboard boxes of varying sizes upturned to create steps and drape some nice fabric such as velvet over them then display the jewelry on this. Boxes are easy to recycle and fabric is light enough to take with you to the various markets and always sets off jewelry very nicely. You also don't have to worry about breakage that you would with mirrors and it's lighter than glass.
- I found several good ones by simply using Google and typing in "jewelry display ideas free." There were patterns for simple fold-flat busts done in posterboard, stacking display levels, and a whole bunch of others. Go have a look and find one or two you like.
- If you're selling earrings and the like, you can display a lot of pairs in a little space by using picture frames. You take out the glass, then cover the cardboard insert with cheap (but pretty) fabric, then lace, then pop it back into the frame. You can then hook earring pairs onto the lace, it looks great, and it's easy and safe to take with you, because you've already popped the glass out!
- You can also check out the many ideas on the "Shows" page at my site... click on the category called DISPLAYS: http://glassattic.com/polymer/shows.htm HTH, and good luck! Diane B.
