TOP CONTRIBUTORS and dog lovers, I need YOUR help!?
Top Contributors and dog lovers! I need YOUR help!? The Veterinary Hospital I work for is setting up a booth at a local dog festival. Obviously, we want to attract as many people to the booth as possible. SO, what would attract YOU?? What kinds of things would you like to see?? Brochures?? Raffles?? Displays?? Free stuff?? If so, what?? Get creative and have fun! No thumbs! Play nice people!

- honestly if you want to attract as many people as possible, go with bright colors and free things, everyone likes free things no matter what it is. bright colors will attract all kinds of people from older people to younger children dragging their parents over.
- Events for the dogs! fun ones so people can show of their dogs. with prizes like dog toys or worming stuff. like -dog high jump (dogs have to jump hay bales highest dog jump wins) SHOWBAGS. also put in the showbag samples of your products and vetrinary buisness details
- I think that Raffles is a good idea, as long as it stays cheap like a dollar. That way you can attract all kinds of people, even kids! Brochures is also a good idea that you can have setting arount the booth. Maybe getting pens with your vet. hospital name, address, and phone number to hand out.
- Definitely displays, Raffles for cool dog stuff, brochures on vax/obedience classes etc.,
- All that stuff sounds fun! Especially raffles--you could have different packages! How much time do you have? A quick thing to do would be to whip up some dog treats, have samples, but also sell bags (if you want) of larger versions. Include recipe cards. You could buy different bolts of fabric, and make some quick bandanas or stuff dog toys to give away. Tie off some rope and give/sell for tug of war toys. Have a LOT of dog things--tons to choose from! As much as possible. And as a bonus, have some brochures explaining basic dog things that *I* have learned here--benefits and types of good dog foods, things not to feed your dogs, the dangers of BYBs and puppy mills (pet stores), teacups, etc. Go nuts! I sure did!
- You should have a nice banner displayed with your veterinary hospital logo on it as well as nice brochures defining what you do, the doctors who work there, prices on different services you perform. You could print up coupons for a 10% discount on the next visit to the hospital or something like that. People love to save money on services so that may bring people to your booth. Hand out something free like maybe a freesbe with your hospital name and logo on it, or a tennis ball with your name printed on it. Something to give to a pet, samples of dog treats or food. Pictures of patients as well as pictures of the hospital and staff. Maybe have a couple of puppies there (they are really attention getters). Good luck!!
- Get about 5 of the cutest dog breeds and have the dogs available for petting. Dachshunds, rat terriers, min pin, lab, australian shepards would attract people. You would have information about the breeds, history, are they working dogs, health/genetic issues, ect.
- I agree, bright colors would atract more people. Also make sure you have lots of signs. give away maybe free dog food/treat samples or tennis balls or dog toys or something fun like that. Maybe add a couple balloons to your booth. anything that you think will get attention. I would print out brochures too to advertise for your hospital. Maybe you or some of the other employees can bring along your dogs so that people can pet them. cute dogs always attract people! good luck!!!
- I would have to say free stuff. Flashy Displays would be great, and maybe something for the people's dogs like free treats or something. Brochures and a raffle would deff. help. PS. I gave everyone a thumbs up!
- Have you thought of a neighborhood dog show. Have a beautiful dog contest. Have kids bring pictures of their dogs, post them and let people pay a buck a vote. Give prizes for the top dogs and you will have money to donate for spay/neuter clinics or something. Work out something with the humane society for adoption of homeless dogs. Oh and free stuff always works.
- OHHHH! YAY! Go BRIGHT! Neon colors! Orange, Lime Green, Hot Pink, Blue, Yellow. Say AWAY from blacks and reds. Dull colors are not the way to go. Free things, free things for the dogs! Free little leads with the name of the veterinary hospital on them. Brochures would be great also! Make it fun! Activitys for the dogs to do would be a plus! Free things: Lead Key chain A little back of quality dog food (Innova, Wellness...) Treats Activitys for dogs: Small agility course (weave poles, jumps) Kiddy pool filled with water A little fenced in area where dogs will be able to play That would be AWESOME! I dont know how much room you have or whatever, but thats what would attract me. These are just ideas! Good luck! ADD: Starlight - I LOVE that idea! Its wonderful! Kansas - Oh ya, RAFFLES! Basket ideas: Dog Toys Dog food Coupons to dog stores Dog supplies (leash, collar, etc) Great idea!
- The color Yellow attracts. Flashing lights attract. Moving objects attract. Hire a trainer to give free advice. (just for the festival) Have a wide variety of useful information- training, spay/neuther advantages, grooming, breed specific information, any & everything you can get. free nail clipping. Free dip clinic. Videos playing on varing subjects. Grooming demo once or twice a day. I worked stained glass for years & have attended a few shows & the one thing I had in my booth that drew attention was a flying dragon. It's movement drew attention from all over the shows. Once I sold the dragon less people stopped by my booth. Movement. Good luck & have fun.
- If you have dogs there with you-I would be SURE to stop by! You could even have the dogs wearing bandanas sporting a logo for your veterinary hospital. Hand out free stuff-even if it is just a magnet with the logo and some phone numbers, a frisbee with the logo, or a tennis ball. Pamphlets, information. Maybe a demonstration on how to read your dog's temperature or how to find your dog's pulse! Raffles are great as well-with a big basket full of fun stuff (toys, treats, bandanas, poo bags, anything).
