Do trade show attendees pay in advance for purchases???
You can't imagine how difficult it has been to get this information! I have to attend the next MAGIC show in Vegas and will be showing a brand new line of men's clothing. This is my first trade show and I do NOT know if the attendees who come to our booth and want to place orders have to pay for them right then and there. Obviously, as I will need their entire payment to go back home and get their product order MANUFACTURED, it would be fantastic if they paid right then and there. Does anyone know anything about this?? The MAGIC staff does not have information about this for me. I called and spoke to several people there in the last month and still cannot get an answer.

- Each vendor should be able to set up their own rules about when payment is received. I would not pay you for the entire order in advance. You said that you felt you had to get the money to have the product manufactured but why should I take the chance of financing your operation. You don't have to pay in advance to shop at WalMart and they have goods already made and waiting for me. For custom clothing, I suspect you will be able to get a deposit. I would try to set the deposit at the cost of your materials. If you can get that much, you will be doing well. As your product becomes more popular, you may be able to increase the deposit. Call your competitors, pretend to be a customer and ask what they get for a deposit on an order.
