How do you go about selling photos? Thinking of getting a booth at an art fair.?
Any suggestions on how to present the photos, we're thinking of framing some. What's the best way to display? What should we charge?

- you could always ask a art teacher or a teacher who teaches photography at a high school or college. well i'm never really a fan of art and photography so i really don't know what else.
- I suggest using white artists frames... they are like a cardboard, but cleaner looking. I used them in an art class that I took before, and it makes the art stand out nicely. This type of frame focuses the buyers attention on the art instead of the frame.
- Well, be very attentive with the frames, people usually have different visions of which frames matches the photos (so you and your customers may disagree). Another Don't will be - about not letting your frame be more emphasised than the picture itself. The simplier the frame the more attention will be at the picture. Don't print the pics too big, it's not the size that matters, right? ;) I believe the idea about the fair is almost a reality. Just wanted to mention that there is another good way to get some bucks for your pictures - to sell those on the Internet. There are specialised sites, but ebay does it, too. Good luck;)
- Some of your better pic's should be nicely framed. All of the other pics's though should definitely be wrapped in sellers plastic ( It keeps the pic's protected and its cheap!) so you look professional. do not lay out exact prices you want, make the buyer ask and respond with some thing like "I was thinking some where around $?? but its slightly debatable" until you get around what the people in your area pay for your photos. make sure the price you say is a little more than you want, believe it or not folks love to Bargain.
- White mat board and plexi glass. You can get a frame shop to cut the mat board to fix your photograph perfectly. If someone is buying your art, they will probably frame it on their own to fit the room they are putting it in. That's how I set mine up for art shows.
