What software do they normally use to do...?
1) product (household products like bottles, containers, toothbrush, shavers, lamps, etc) design? 2) furniture design? 3) Cars & ships? 4) Kiosk & booth display?

- Generally you need a CAD program to start from scratch, but for every field there is what you call a Macro library, where you can pick ready made shapes or models, merge and trim and you have what you need easily, and fast, I would mention some programs like Maya, 3d studio, and kasemake, which have large libraries of ready made models. :)
- Designers usually use either a CAD program like Autocad (or other more specialized versions also from Autodesk) or a 3D modelling software like 3D Studio Max or Lightwave etc. Most even use both. Additional software are used for presentation value, like Photoshop or After Effects.
- Creative Suite 3 can do all of that
